Her and His Barong
For the ceremony of our wonderful big day, Happy, in a view of promoting and support local fabrics and craftsmanship which make the richness of the Philippines, came up with something unconventional. Indeed as it is quite usual to see grooms wearing barong for wedding day, it is not that common to have the bride wearing her own version of barong too! In this line, both of us were matching with unique pieces of art, made of Piña. This was also a way for Happy to show her pride for her roots and to embody who she is, demonstrating her personality and of course talent!
Her barong wasn’t an easy outfit to make but rather a complex and detail chef d’œuvre, requiring the highest level of passion and dedication. It was a multi layered skirt, made of piña Collado, with a detachable train topped off with an over sized studded bow. The gown was also embroidered with 3D laser cut details and delicately hand beaded cut beads and coconut beads and adorned by thousands of Swarovski crystals.
To compliment her gown, Happy created a classic elbow length open faced veil with embroidery and crystals... definitely the type of wedding gown to compete with all princesses in the world! A fairytale come true!
